It looks like the Mercury installation on the CSSE machines has become
corrupted. I've just installed a fresh copy of Mercury 0.12.0
(which wasn't installed for some reason) and the above code works
fine with that in grade asm_fast.gc.

I'm in the process of installing rotd 2005-10-31 at the moment;
hopefully that will make the problem go away.

0.12.0 is installed at:

	/home/mercury/public/mercury-0.12/i386-pc-solaris2.8

rotd-2005-10-31 will be installed in the usual spot.

I've only done a minimal installation of both versions, so debugging/profiling
won't be available for a couple of days (until everything is
automatically rebuilt). (Also 0.12.0 will replaced by 0.12.1-beta
sometime later this week.)

Cheers,
Julien.
