I only thought about how I could give Java programmers working with me
in my company the task to implement Mercury standard libs in Java. For
others it might be *a bit*, for them it would be *a lot*. (And for me,
who has to guide them, too, because it would be simpler to introduce
them into this task.) 

It's not about merits, it's only how to make everyday life easier in
my company. I really want to push the company forward to a
Mercury<->Java style of coding. The advantage for other Mercury users
would be the availability of a Java port, which we could provide
having the tools as described by me. As I know from the mailing list
this would have some value for others, too.

I tried to make a proposal: Give me the tools, I would need to fulfill
the task with reasonable costs, and we'll start to port Mercury's
libraries to Java.
