                      Announcement of the

                      OPEN POSTER SESSION

                      the most open event

                         at ICLP'99

the last International Conference on Logic Programming before Y2K

A unique chance to make a lasting impression on LP in the 20th century !

... or to make a fool of yourself

What is the ICLP'99 OPEN POSTER SESSION ?

a session where you can present almost anything you want (*)

a session where you can decide at the last minute to contribute (**)

The main prerequisite:

attend ICLP'99: Las Cruces, New Mexico
                      see http://www.CS.NMSU.Edu/~complog/conferences/iclp99

(*) constraints on what you can present:

your message must fit in about 1 vertical square metre
it must fit in 2 hours (starting Friday, 3 December, 1999, 10.30)
you should not prevent others to present their thingie:
loud noise, faul smell, artificial darkness,
magic spells and other inconveniences are unwelcome

Examples of presentable stuff:

	an unjustly rejected ICLP submission
newly gained insights at the conference
	your campaign for ALP presidency
	discomfort with the hotel accomodations
your fashion statement on the future of LP
	embarrassing pictures of LP celebrities
cunning solutions to Prolog Programming Competition problems
	...

This list is non exhaustive: there will be no screening of
participation except for depletion of local resources.
The idea is that you put up a poster and be there to talk to
interested people. There will be some material available. System
demonstrations are also possible - contact us for modalities or bring
your own equipment.

<HR>

(**) first come, first served ... if you let us know in advance, you
have more chance to be able to participate.
The organisers reserve the right to fill some slots themselves.
