[m-dev.] Fork for 10.04 release

Hi,

I will create the branch for the 10.04 release later this week after all
the recent changes to the boehm_gc directory have been tested a bit more.
(The nightly builds have been off-line for the past couple of nights due
to all the network stuff going on around here.)
