Hello,
Mercury 0.12.2 and Mercury-extras 0.12.2 are now available
for OSX/powerpc through the Darwinports system.
Darwinports is a software package management system. More
information can be found at http://darwinports.org.
To have darwinports install a complete mercury distribution (mercury
compiler + extras) just type
sudo port install mercury-extras
The compiler will be automatically built since it is a dependency of the
mercury-extras package. Note that the overall process may take
a while: on a 1.5 GHz G4, you could fly most of the way from New York
to Melbourne while it was compiling ;-)
The OSX/powerpc compiler does not yet pass all of the tests in
the mercury-tests distribution. Some of the failures seem trivial;
are there any that I should be worried about (or make note of in the
documentation for the darwinports distribution)?
Best Wishes,
Greg Wright
