[mercury-users] Is -O0 actually necessary on MacOS X with gcc-4.0?

I built the compiler in reg.gc with -O0, but when I recompiled the 
compiler in hlc.gc I forgot to add the -O0 to the Mmake.params. However, 
it seemed to build fine, and programs built with it seem to work. Is the 
-O0 actually necessary with gcc-4.0?
