Thanks Fergus, that worked perfectly! It is very satisfying to be able to
use the same Mercury version transparently across both platforms.

Perhaps it would be worth me contributing some low level Win32 code for
the extras module, to complement the posix module. Very strange writing 
Windows programs in Mercury, but if it works... :)
