I am not sure about the sh scripts, but "mmc --grade gc.hlc nrev.m" works.

Also, while scripts/canonical_grade *does* always put the base grade
first, the order in which it outputs the grade modifiers is *not* the order
we usually use. I looked it up because I thought about using their order
in canonical grades as the order of their introduction in the "Grade modifiers"
section, but I don't think that order works for the user guide.

I made all your suggested changes, but won't commit them until
I finish the currently partially-done rest of the grades chapter.
