If you can't do `cvs diff', then you probably won't be able to do
`cvs commit' either.

The reason it's not working is that your home directory is /home/hydra/jahier,
which is on the machine `hydra', which is currently down.

The instructions at that URL have definitely changed recently.
But the old methods should continue to work, when the machines are not down ;-)
