Aside from the usual bandwidth/time/diskspace issues with continually
updating the compiler... :)

mercury_trace_alias.c: In function `MR_trace_remove_alias':
mercury_trace_alias.c:95: Unable to find a register to spill in class
`SIREG'.
mercury_trace_alias.c:95: confused by earlier errors, bailing out

Is this gcc 2.96's fault?
There are a number of others which I `fix' by commenting out...

mercury_trace_external.c: In function `MR_trace_event_external':
mercury_trace_external.c:914: Unable to find a register to spill in class
`SIREG'.

mercury_trace_external.c: In function `MR_trace_browse_one_external':
mercury_trace_external.c:1431: Unable to find a register to spill in class
`SIREG'.

mercury_trace_tables.c: In function `MR_search_for_matching_procedures':
mercury_trace_tables.c:337: Unable to find a register to spill in class
`SIREG'.

mercury_trace_vars.c: In function `MR_trace_parse_browse_one':
mercury_trace_vars.c:702: Unable to find a register to spill in class
`SIREG'.

mercury_trace_vars.c: In function `MR_trace_browse_one':
mercury_trace_vars.c:713: Unable to find a register to spill in class
`SIREG'.
