When citing standards that are under active development, please also
give the section titles, rather than just the section numbers,
because the section numbers are subject to change in later drafts.

In particular 8.2.2 is now 7.2.2 in the Oct 01 draft.  Fortunately in
this case it relatively easy to figure out which section you meant.

Regarding your question about the reference to "value types",
it does look to me like a bug in the spec.
