What do you mean by "more recent"? hydra has a 2.1.x kernel, and there's
little chance any of us is running one newer. I'm prepared to give
it a go using a libc6 linux system, with kernel 2.0.29 (and a libc5
system with 2.0.30).

Apart from needing some testing results, the change looks fine.
