If you're referring to the date at the top of the Language Reference
Manual, it's hard coded (so it is wrong). The documentation on the
web page should be completely up-to-date (it's installed almost
nightly). 

Perhaps we should modify the documents so that they use the version
number generated by configure or something (although this would have
it's drawbacks too).
