Thanks for the suggestion Julien! Unfortunately this didn't solve the
problem. It did remove the warning message about
GC_register_stackbottom, but it still led to a segfault.

You mentioned that IA64 was working at one point, so I tried 0.13.1 and
0.12.0 (0.12.0 being the oldest version I could find) and unfortunately
both of those gave very similar results. One difference with the older
versions is that the segfaults happened at the very bottom of the
address space (either 0x0 or 0x1) which is suspicious to me.

If I have time this weekend, I'll poke around to see if I can sort of
what's being set incorrectly.
