[mercury-users] Logging of make

In mercury-0.12 make used to create two separate log files, one for
the make, and one for the make install. This doesn't seem to happen
with the development version or the rotds. I found that feature
really useful whenever one of the odd combinations of features I was
using caused the build to crash, and also to see exactly what make was
doing and in what order, and I never remember to send the make into a
log file myself. Is there any particular reason why it is no longer
there?
