[mercury-users] Mercury on Solaris

Hi,
Running a program compiled with rotd-2002-02-07 on Solaris produces the
following error:
*** Mercury runtime: caught segmentation violation ***
cause: bad permissions for mapped object
However the same program compiled on linux runs as expected, with no
segfault.
The FTP site lists rotd-2001-11-26 as being the last stable release for
sparc-sun-solaris2.7, but this is getting pretty ancient. What is holding
back the compiler on Solaris as opposed to Linux? Is it something that
produces mysterious segfaults in compiled programs? Is it something that
can be fixed one day?
Michael
