Yes, that grade exists, although (1) it does not work on all architectures IIRC
and (2) it is not as well tested as e.g. the asm_fast.gc grade or the hlc.gc
grade.
(asm_fast.par.gc is the compilation grade which uses the low-level
back-end and which supports parallelism / concurrency.

ALso, some documentation on parallel conjunction was posted to
the mercury-reviews list a fair while ago, I think
but I don¨t think it ever made it into the reference manual.)
