I haven't looked at the Edison interfaces in any detail, but having
read Okasaki's book cover to cover, I'd have to say he is FANTASTIC
at coming up with implementations, but I would rather not have to use
his interfaces. As already noted, the interfaces would need fairly
major revision to suit a language which supports multiple modes and
non-determinism.
To develop a library *inspired* by Edison is a good idea.
I'm just saying let's not follow it too slavishly in *any* respect.
