[mercury-users] scope resolution operator

Hi,

which scope resolution operator has the blessing of the Mercury community?
Seeing io:state makes me feel all warm and fuzzy, while io__state gives me
the screaming heebie jeebies; is one of these deprecated? Will one of them
be made official in the future, or will both be maintained?
