Wouldn't it be great if this conversation were being held in
comp.lang.prolog, so that non-Mercury users could see that there's
more to Logic Programming than 1st year Computer Science students
trying to get others to solve the Missionaries & Cannibals problem?

That is, when something more general than Mercury is being discussed
(which often happens), maybe we could move to comp.lang.prolog?
