It was Fergus's idea for an implicit "mercury" package wrapper around
the names of all the standard library modules. I don't remember its purpose,
but it may have been simply to reduce the intrusion of the Mercury library
into the name space available to every programmer.

Are you trying to build a workspace that contains this change
using an installed compiler that does not? If so, then the problem
is that the installed does not know that the new module should be
treated as part of the Mercury standard library. Installing a new
compiler that has the updated library.m should fix i.
