Thanks for that. Besides adopting your text, I also updated
the top comment in that file, as shown in the attached updated diff.

Before you install this diff on the website, could you please have a look into

- adding an anchor to downloads.html marking the start of the rotd section, and
- using an internal link to that anchor to replace the href to the whole downloads page
   in the new news item.
