The earliest entry for stack_alloc.nl in the git repository is commit
08e7e85 (in Oct. 1994). The log message is, ah, less than helpful:
Various minor changes; added a bunch of new test files.
(It's possible that stack_alloc.nl lived on a branch prior to that,
but I don't think we preserved most of them in the CVS -> git
conversion.)
1994 also predates the mailing list archives by several years.
