The diff doesn't change the algorithm for comparing
the old and new interface of a module, it just changes how
that algorithm is implemented, making it more direct,
shorter, and clearer. However, that extra clarity has exposed
what I think are two bugs in the algorithm. Both are noted
in the log message. I would appreciate review comments
about these, and about aborting when we find unexpected
items in interfaces.
