Zoltan,

I think this is the solution to some of your automatic parallelism problems.
In particular, the tests suite changes that I'm about to commit expect this
version of the auto-parallelism tools.  Therefore, I'm committing this now
without a review.

I hope this dosn't conflict with your workspace.
