I suggest pushing your changes upstream first and seeing what the
response is.  If these changes are *not* going to be accepted into Boehm
then I think it would be best to maintain the GC_mercury_* names for
stuff we have introduced.

I'm not sure when we are next going to update the collector, ideally it
would be when 7.2 (or 7.2alpha5) is released.
