Which ones?  You mean for the functions that you originally named
strip_whitespace, strip_whitespace_prefix, and strip_whitespace_suffix?
Peter Moulder posted some information, but I think he was careful to avoid
making any suggestions about names for these ;-)  I don't have any strong opinions
on names for these either.  I would be happy with any of the names mentioned so far.
