Oh, I assumed det and erroneous would interact in the same way as det and
failure, but I guess that would require propagating the fact that
something can throw an exception all the way back to main. Oops :)

So... don't use --no-fully-strict when you're debugging? Or always make
sure you have a convenient io state for those debug messages?
