So the VPS that we're using is at prgmr.com, it has 128MB of ram.

My friend runs a VPS at the same provider of the same size.  His site was
recently linked to from redit and hacker news (he has a good article about
timekeeping in computing).  He has published data about how well his VPS
coped with the extra load if anyone finds it interesting.
