[m-dev.] aditi backend

Is aditi still an ongoing project?  If not, can we shift
the aditi backend off into a branch and remove it from
the main branch of the compiler?  Doing so would reduce
the compilation time of the compiler by a fair margin
(and probably further simplify the package dependency graph).
