[m-dev.] mercury and gcc 4.0

Hi all,

I've just tried Mercury out with gcc 4.0.  gcc labels
don't seem to work out of the box, so asm_fast.gc won't
work.  I've bootchecked succesfully in hlc.gc.

I've installed gcc 4.0 on earth in /home/earth/public/gcc/gcc-4.0/bin.
(The executables all have the suffix `-4.0').
