[m-dev.] bootstrapping problem for release branch

Hi,

Tyson's comment at today's meeting about bootstrapping issues was
right on target.  The change to stack_layouts that Zoltan committed
yesterday means that older versions of the compiler, including the
release branch, won't compile with the latest development compiler,
because their runtime directory won't contain the new RTTI types used
by the C code generated by the new compiler.

This is a bit of a pain...

With a bit of luck the release branch will still compile with the
latest stable release-of-the-day.  I'll try that.
