It's almost always a bad idea to put the word "new" in the code,
since what was once new will quickly become old.
It would be much better to pick a name that will age better.

I'll leave it up to Mark to do a first review, but I'd like to
review it after you and Mark are both happy with it, and before
it gets committed.
