Good question. If I understand things correctly, your module
provides the same kind of stuff as extras/mcurses, plus some
additional functionality? If so, I think it makes sense to
put it in a parallel directory at the same level.
You should modify extras/README and the list in RELEASE_NOTES to
mention the new directory.
