[m-dev.] very unscientific benchmarking

Here is the results of compiling the benchmark directory using the MLDS
compiler and the ARGO
compiler:

MLDS:
real    1m31.940s
user    0m19.380s
sys     0m19.394s

ARGO:
real    19m41.819s
user    0m25.239s
sys     3m5.019s

I am not sure if the user and sys times actually mean anything under cygwin.
The main factor in possibly increasing the compile time is that the ARGO
compiler is mounted on
a network drive.  What impact that will have on the times I am not sure.
