[m-dev.] test with gcc 2.95 on sparcs

I have imported mercury-compiler-rotd-1999-10-21.tar.gz
and run both ./INSTALL and ./INSTALL_CVS.

Everything just proceeded fine.

My environment was as follows:

$ uname -a
SunOS cripure 5.7 Generic_106541-05 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-250

$ gcc -v
Reading specs from /usr/local/gcc-2.95.1/lib/gcc-lib/sparc-sun-solaris2.7/2.95.1/specs
gcc version 2.95.1 19990816 (release)

$ make -v
GNU Make version 3.77, by Richard Stallman and Roland McGrath.

Well, as a matter of fact, it works with -j3
