SCHOOL OF COMPUTER SCIENCE AND SOFTWARE ENGINEERING
The School of Computer Science and Software Engineering is one of fiv=

schools within the Monash University Faculty of Information Technolog=
y.
The School employs over 60 academic staff on the Caulfield and Clayto=
n
campuses. Research interests within the school encompass software
engineering; mobile and distributed systems; computer education;
database systems and information retrieval; distributed, parallel and
mobile computing; graphics and image processing; logic and theory;
artificial intelligence and machine learning; communications and digi=
tal
signal processing; digital systems hardware and architecture, The sch=
ool
offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs including the
Bachelors of Computing, Computer Science, Software Engineering and
Digital Systems and has a strong honours and PhD Program.
Applicants for a position at Lecturer level should have a PhD and a
strong research record, with a proven ability to teach at both
undergraduate and postgraduate level. Teaching areas in particular
demand include Database, Unix systems programming, Software Design,
Programming Languages (Java, C++, Smalltalk) and Software Engineering=
.
Applicants for a senior lectureship must also demonstrate proven
leadership abilities in areas including academic administration,
research management and industry collaboration. The successful applic=
ant
for an Associate Professorship position will undertake a significant
academic leadership and management role on the Caulfield Campus.
The benefits:
$47,450 to $56,347 p.a. Lecturer (Level B)
$58,125 to $67,023 p.a. Senior Lecturer (Level C)
$69,988 to $77,104 p.a. Associate Professor (Level D)
Appointments will be made at the salary level appropriate to the
successful applicant=92s qualifications and experience and in accorda=
nce
with academic award classification standards for these positions.
Location: Positions are available at Caulfield and Clayton. Teaching =
on
both the Caulfield and Clayton campuses as required.
