That post was >100K, which means that it probably didn't make it to
cs.mercury or to anyone who gets mercury-developers delivered to their
mailbox on cat.cs.mu.oz.au.  But it's in the mailing list archives at
/home/mercury/public/mailing_lists/mercury-developers.9804 if anyone
wants it.  Tom, I suggest you don't bother splitting it up reposting it.
